Comic Shift workshop with Ted Staunton

In this workshop Ted Staunton will introduce his new novel Comic Shift, about 2 kids trying to create comics who meet someone with a superpower they're trying to lose.

Participants will learn the basics to comics, and tips on how to start creating their own comic.

Each participant will receive a copy of Comic Shift to take home with them.

This workshop is designed for 9-12 year olds

Movement and Mood

This drop-in yoga inspired class seeks to offer an inclusive environment where participants of all ability levels are able to experience and engage in yoga.
Jenn brings a holistic approach which supports participants mental and physical health.  Come learn how movement impacts mood and learn stretches which promote rest and relaxation. Please bring a yoga mat and water bottle (Some yoga mats provided) This is in partnership with NHH Community Mental Health Services.

 

Lunch and Learn

Join us in the Program Room at the MJB Branch for an informative lunch and learn. This is in partnership with the Port Hope Chambers of Commerce. This month we will have special guests from the Port Hope Police Service as well as the Community Health Centres of Northumberland and the topic is Protecting our Backyard. An update on social issues in our community. What you need to know.

Chamber members and non Chamber members are welcome. It is requested that you pre-register through the Port Hope Chmabers of Commerce website.

Ukrainian Meet Up

Gather in the Program Room at the Main Branch on the first Wednesday every month. This is a welcoming space where Ukrainian children, teenagers and families from Northumberland can meet up to connect, socialize and pratice their native language. There will be games out for people to play if they choose to.

 

Toddlers and Waddlers

Join us in the Program Room at MJB for an hour of plyaing, reading, snack and singing. We might even bring out the parachute!

This is a drop in program and is intended for families with children over the age of one and under the age of 4.

Unfinished Stitchery

Join us in the Program Room at the MJB Library for an afternoon of sharing and laughter. Whatever it is you have on the go whether it be knitting, crochet, weaving, cross stitch or sewing, we would love to have you join us!
