Summer Tutors - due to the Covid 19 situation we will not be hiring tutors this year
Port Hope Public Library usually hires two post-secondary students around May to provide literacy and mathematics tutoring for our summer tutor program. Duties include promotion of the tutor program, providing tutoring for students in Kindergarten through grade 8 and program evaluation. Tutors will be focused on meeting tutor program goals and objectives and developing individualized resources for students. Contact Alison Houston ahouston@porthope.ca for more information.

Friends of the Library
Port Hope Public Library Board invites the community to be part of a Friends of the Library group. The group has an executive and meets monthly - everyone is welcome. Meeting dates can be found on the Events Calendar or please ask Library staff. Come out to learn all about how Friends support libraries through advocacy, building awareness, fundraising, volunteering and program support. Contact CEO Margaret Scott for more information.
Currently a group of Friends have been volunteering as door greeters at the Mary J Benson Branch. There are several open three hour time slots which need filling which free up staff for other duties. Volunteers ensure the public are aware of our Limited Service rules and follow PPE procedures. If you'd like to help contact Alison Houston.
