An adaptation of the George Bernard Shaw play Pygmalion. Pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins (Rex Harrison) takes it upon himself to transform a Cockney working-class girl Eliza Doolittle (Audrey Hepburn) into someone who can pass for a cultured member of high society.

Won 8 Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Rex Harrison, and garnered another 4 nominations. Harrison's microphone (hidden in his neckties) would occasionally pick up broadcasts from passing police cars.
