At the Dec 4 budget meeting Council voted to terminate the lease of the Garden Hill Branch in order to renovate this designated space for use by the Fire Department. If the budget passes at the Dec 19 meeting, Council will issue the Library with a 6 month notice to vacate. Council has offered space at the Canton site for the delivery of rural library service.
The Port Hope Public Library Board will be considering future options for rural library service at its upcoming meeting. The public is invited to attend the December 21, 2017 meeting starting at 6 pm at the Canton Municipal Building.
